The Walmart Money Card is a prepaid debit card that is issued at Walmart stores nationwide. It is issued by the Green Dot Corp. The Walmart Money Card allows account holders to make purchases in stores, at restaurants, online or anywhere that credit cards are accepted using the card after they've put money into the account. To cancel your Walmart Money Card, you will need to directly contact the card's customer service center.

Call Walmart Money Card customer service at 877-937-4098. Press "4" on your telephone's keypad to be connected with the customer support center.

Enter the required information, such as your Walmart Money Card number, as the system prompts you. You will then be transferred to a customer support agent.
Step 3
Inform the agent that you would like to close your Walmart Money Card account. You may have to answer some identifying questions such as your birth date, address or your Social Security number, so that the agent can verify that you are the account holder. He will then close your account at your request. Cut up the card into tiny pieces and discard, if you desire.
Close Your Account by Mail
Step 1
Address your envelope to Walmart Money Card's customer service address, which is below. Affix proper postage to the envelope.
Step 2
Write or print a letter that contains your request to have your Walmart Money Card account closed. Include the account number, your name, address and telephone number in the request.
Step 3
Wait to receive either a phone call from Walmart Money Card that will verify that you wish to close your account or a letter from the company stating that your account was closed at your request. If a customer support agent calls, you may have to give some personal identifying information, such as your birth date or your Social Security number, so that the agent knows that you are the account holder.
Tip
If your Walmart Money Card has a balance at the time it is closed, you will be mailed a check for the remaining balance in six to eight weeks.
Warning
Do not cancel your Walmart Money Card if you plan to use the card again in the future.
